The Timberwolves opened the season with a 92-80 win over Sacramento Friday night at Target Center. Without Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio, Minnesota was led by J.J. Barea's 21 points off the bench.

The new faces on the roster didn't blow up the box score, but they did play solid defense -- holding Sacramento to a dismal field goal percentage of 36 percent.

Brandon Roy played 30 minutes, and although he struggled to hit shots, he finished with 10 points and 6 assists and 5 rebounds.

Andrei Kirilenko, playing in his first game in the NBA in two years, scored 10 points and pulled down 7 rebounds.

Next up for the Wolves is a road game in Toronto on Sunday.
