The Timberwolves were greeted with a double-digit losing streak on the first day of 2015, losing their tenth consecutive game, 110-107 to the Sacramento Kings at Target Center Thursday night.

Andrew Wiggins put together another strong game, finishing with 27 points on 11-of-22 shooting while adding nine rebounds and four steals. The 6-foot-8 rookie has scored 27, 21, 10, 22 and 27 points in his past five games.

According to 1500 ESPN, all five Sacramento starters scored in double figures. Rudy Gay and Darren Collison scored 21 points, DeMarcus Cousins scored 19 points and Derrick Favors finished with 17. Shabazz Muhammad and Gorgui Dieng each scored 15 for the Wolves.

The Kings shot 78 percent in the first quarter on their way to 37 points.

“You can’t win a game by how you play in the beginning of a game,” Wolves head coach Flip Saunders said, according to the Star Tribune. “ but you can lose a game by not setting the tone. We came out with poor energy.’’

The Wolves are back in action Saturday when they host the Utah Jazz.
