Wolves head to Brooklyn to face Nets

After losing to Toronto last night, it’s off to Brooklyn for the Timberwolves as they face the newly-relocated Nets tonight. Brooklyn opened the season Saturday night with a big win over the Raptors in the borough’s first pro sports game in 55 years.

So far, it's been an uneven start for the Timberwolves.

Friday night's opener at Target Center was mostly all smiles as Minnesota stopped Sacramento, 92-80. With Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio out with injuries, Rick Adelman's team needs to grab any win at any time until the franchise players return.

Last night in Toronto, the Wolves dropped to 1-1 after getting pasted by the Raptors, 105-86. The Wolves were down by just six points heading into fourth quarter, but were outscored 26-13 in the final stanza while making just 4 of 16 shots.

That brings Minnesota to Brooklyn tonight to face the newly-relocated Nets. In front of a sold-out madhouse, Brooklyn beat those same Raptors Saturday night in the borough's first pro game in 55 years.

The Nets have lost five of six to the Wolves, including a 108-105 loss last year, with Nikola Pekovic pouring in 27 points. With Minnesota's depleted lineup, it looks like Pekovic might need a similar big night to beat Brooklyn.
