Wolves top Pacers in preseason opener

The Timberwolves opened preseason play with an 84-70 win over the Indian Pacers at the Fargo Dome Wednesday night. Kevin Love had 12 points and 8 rebounds. Newcomers Brandon Roy and Chase Buddinger had 13 and 14 points, respectively.

Wolves' Brandon Roy excited about preseason play

After the seven-game exhibition season, Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Brandon Roy remains healthy despite his surgically repaired knees. Roy told the Pioneer Press, "My goal was to play in all the games, even the back-to-backs, and I was able to do that. I wanted to get in shape and push my body. After all that, I feel really good." The newspaper notes he averaged 21.3 minutes and 10.0 points.
