Wolves two-step Jazz, sweep home-and-home

The Wild couldn't sweep their home-and-home series with the Dallas Stars that ended Tuesday, but the Wolves made good on their win over Utah Saturday and completed their miniseries sweep of the Jazz with a 112-97 win Tuesday.

Thanks to a big first-quarter which left Minnesota up by 18, Minnesota overcame a night in which leading scorers Kevin Martin and Kevin Love combined to go just 12-of-31 from the field.

Aside from off-guard Gordon Heyward putting up a nice night in his first game back after missing the previous five with a hop flexor, Utah looked out of sync offensively all night, all other starters shooting just 10-of-29 from the floor in the loss.

Six Wolves reached double-figures, including J.J. Barea, who was the lone Wolf off the bench to get to double-digits with 15.

Ricky Rubio posted 11 points and 13 assists, and was cute as usual.

Minnesota's win in Utah is just their 11th in 50 attempts since the franchise's inception.

The Wolves head further west this weekend, with Golden State the opponent Friday night, and Portland the foe Saturday.
