Wolves want Rubio to improve his shooting, scoring
He's already one of the best passing point guards in the NBA, but the Timberwolves want Ricky Rubio to develop his game.
Rubio can become a more complete point guard if he becomes a better shooter and scorer.
"That’s his next step in the evolution of the point guard position,” T-Wolves president of basketball operations Flip Saunders told KFAN. “Being a bigger scoring threat, being able to knock down shots, which will make the game much more easier for him.”
Rubio averaged 10.7 points per game last season while shooting a below-average 36 percent from the field, and just 29.3 percent on three-point attempts.
Other Wolves notes:
The Star Tribune reports that former Gophers star guard, Bobby Jackson, is close to signing a deal to become an assistant coach with the Wolves.
The Wolves also announced the team's 2013-14 TV schedule.
