Thursday night's Wolves-Lakers game at Target Center is all about Flip Saunders.

It's been more than two years since Saunders died after a battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and now the Wolves will honor him from start to finish Thursday night, starting with the raising of a banner in his name during a pregame ceremony.

"Flip meant so much to our organization as a coach, but he meant so much more to all of us as a friend," Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor said in a statement. “His impact on our organization and what he meant to the Minnesota basketball community is something that will always be with us."

"It is appropriate that we honor the man who meant so much to us with of a banner in our home arena that will forever fortify his memory.”

In addition to the banner, every fan at the game will receive a commemorative coin, an ode to the coins Saunders used to give players and staff before the start of each season.

Players will be wearing custom sneakers inspired by Saunders.

The sneakers were created by custom designer Kickstradamis and will be auctioned off during the game with proceeds going to the Flip Saunders Legacy Fund

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the pregame ceremony begins at 7:15 p.m. The game tips off just after 8 p.m.
