Yale, the country's oldest college hockey program, has won its first NCAA men's hockey championship by shutting down the top-seeded Quinnipiac Bobcats with a 4-0 victory on Saturday night, the Associated Press reports.

Senior goalie Jeff Malcolm led the Bulldogs to the national title by stopping all 36 Quinnipiac shots, according to the Boston Herald. Not a bad way to celebrate his 24th birthday.

No. 1 Quinnipiac beat St. Cloud State Unviersity, 4-1, in the national semifinals on Thursday. SCSU’s Drew LeBlanc was named the Hobey Baker Award winner on Friday.

The Huskies’ senior, was also named the WCHA player and student of the year and signed a contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Yale knocked the Gophers out in the first round of the NCAA hockey tournament with a 3-2 overtime victory.
