Zamboni drivers rescue hockey player after 'freak accident' puts his life at stake

Thirty-three-old Rich Mertz was skating with friends at Amsoil Arena in Duluth when he got tangled up and an ice skate cut him deep in the face and neck. The wound severed two arteries, and blood was gushing when two quick-thinking maintenance workers rushed to his rescue.
