The Minnesota Wild have re-signed forward Jason Zucker.

The 22-year-old Zucker was a restricted free agent this offseason. He signed a two-year contract with Minnesota on Tuesday.

According to FOX Sports Net, the deal includes a two-way option that allows Zucker to be sent to the team's American Hockey League affiliate in Iowa in 2014, but it is a one-way contract for 2015-16.

Zucker scored four goals and had one assist in 21 NHL games last season for Minnesota.

He also had eight goals and five assists in 22 games for the Iowa Wild in the AHL before his season ended after undergoing surgery to repair his left quadriceps tendon. The injury caused him to miss the end of the regular season and the Wild's playoff run.

In 47 career NHL games Zucker has 12 points (8 goals, 4 assists). The Wild selected him in the second round of the 2010 NHL entry draft.

According to the Pioneer Press, Zucker will be given a chance to make the team out of training camp, but a spot in the Wild's top six forwards seems unlikely.

He was one of five restricted free agents for the Wild. Defenseman Jon Blum agreed to terms with the Wild on a one-year deal last week. Nino Niederreiter, Justin Fontaine and Darcy Kuemper are also restricted free agents. Fontaine filed for arbitration rights earlier.
