Duluth slobbered on with accumulating slushy snow ... on May 19

Are we sure the Night King didn't defeat Mother Nature and is now ruling the weather?

If you live in the Twin Cities and you thought Sunday's cold rain and wind was miserable, consider yourself luck that you weren't in Duluth.

It snowed in Duluth and it stuck to the ground. In fact, they picked up 2.4 inches of wet, slushy snow at the Duluth office of the National Weather Service (NWS).

While snow has wound down in the Duluth area, it's still falling in parts of northwest Wisconsin, especially along the South Shore of Lake Superior where up to four inches of snow could accumulate.

Snow in Duluth in May isn't all that unusual, but to have it accumulate is a little odd, especially this late into the fifth month of the year.

Just for fun, check out the radar from 3:10 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The blue represents where some rather heavy, wet snow was falling.
