Focusing on the heat and severe weather threat in Minnesota

Video Duration:

Crazy heat today and the possibility of some storms overnight if they can hold together as they reach the ‘heat dome.’ Best chances of storms will be in northern Minnesota.

The main threats today will be large hail, damaging winds and maybe a tornado or two. Here's a look at the HRRR model's damaging wind swath projection, which falls in line with the enhanced (orange) risk in the map above.

The Storm Prediction Center said it would likely issue a watch in the eastern Dakotas and western Minnesota between 3-5 p.m.

Tuesday will be in the 90s again but with dropping dew points. We’re back in the low 90s again Thursday and Friday. The chances of thunder continue to be sporadic & isolated Friday & Saturday.
