A little taste of summer will be in the air Friday in parts of southern Minnesota as some locations will see temperatures rise into the 80s.
For the Twin Cities, the National Weather Service is forecasting high temps to hit the low 70s. But go south and west of the metro and the forecast has temperatures soaring into the low 80s.
The warmest temps, generally speaking, will be south of Interstate 94.
"There's a chance for a few light rain showers today, but the weekend looks dry and mild. Looking ahead, cooler weather and better chances for rain return next week," the weather service says.
Meanwhile, the next chance for rain looks to arrive early next week, followed by cooler than normal conditions.
