It was the snowiest Easter in Twin Cities history – and likely most places in southern Minnesota – as up to 10 inches of snow fell as a powerful storm system churned its way through the middle of the country.

It was also the biggest snow producer most of the the Twin Cities area has seen since the storm that dumped around 9 inches just before Thanksgiving.

Only 1.3 inches of snow was recorded at MSP Airport in March, while the largest single-day snowfalls at the airport in December, January and February were all under 5 inches.

The next few days are forecast to be on the chilly side for mid-April, but warmer conditions look to return in time for next weekend. More importantly, no major storm systems are in the 7-day forecast.
