Novak Weather is keeping tabs on a brewing storm system that could bring a significant winter storm to the Upper Midwest later this week.
"I'm concerned that near-blizzard conditions may develop in western Minnesota if this storm system does intensify as expected on Thursday and into Friday," says Novak Weather.
"I wouldn't be surprised if signifiant snow falls over much of the Upper Midwest, including the Twin Cities."
Novak's Jan. 11 weather briefing video focuses on:
- Near record-high potential for some Tuesday, Wednesday.
- Major storm system that develops on Thursday.
- Potential for difficult travel conditions by late Thursday into Friday.
- Still no bitter cold Arctic air in sight.
