Nov. 2 Weather with Sven: Warm blast, storm next week?

Video Duration:

Meteorologist Sven Sundgaard might have to bust out a tank top this week as the temperatures in the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota are poised to rise into the 60s and maybe even touch 70 by Friday.

Election Day looks borderline perfect with temps rising into the 60s. Not bad for November 3, right?

There is no precipitation in the forecast, but Sven is watching the models closely and there are signs that a big drop in temps will arrive next weekend or early next week, and some computer models are hinting at the possibility of a storm system moving through as the temps dip, which is always the recipe for interesting weather.

"Confidence is still high that a quick change to more winter type weather will occur the week of November 9th," says the forecast discussion from the Twin Cities office of the National Weather Service.
