"We continue to monitor for the potential for some accumulating snowfall for our region sometime later this week," says the Duluth office of the NWS.

"There is still quite a bit of uncertainty regarding the exact storm track, which will impact the timing of snowfall onset and exact snowfall amounts. At this point, it appears that the most likely area to see accumulating snow is over far north-central Minnesota, but this can still change!"

The weather service adds: "This system should start out as all rain Wednesday, than transition to a rain/snow mix sometime Thursday, becoming mostly snow by Friday."
