Watch: Dashcam captures insane lightning strike in Twin Cities

An impressive bolt of lightning in the Roseville area Tuesday morning.

A ferocious bolt of lightning was caught on a Twin Cities motorist's dashcam Tuesday morning.

Twitter user @MMegan79 was driving southbound on Snelling Avenue in Roseville when the thunderous lightning strike illuminated the roadway ahead of her.

"Whoa, holy cats," she can be heard saying in the video

The lightning was associated with a severe thunderstorm that moved through the Twin Cities. While there haven't been any notable storm damage reports in the metro, the National Weather Service said there could be scattered wind gusts of 60-70 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, another round of strong to severe storms could develop in parts of Minnesota later Tuesday afternoon. Those storms, if they do develop, could again impact the Twin Cities.
