His long-time friend Frederick “Rick” Hammer Jr. tells the Brainerd Dispatch, "When we hit the water, it came pouring into the plane and everything hurt like crazy. Small plane crash in Canada injures 2 Minnesotans

Two people from Cloquet were seriously injured in a small plane crash in Ontario, Canada, early Wednesday. Ontario Provincial Police authorities said a Cessna 180 was trying to take off from a camp on Trout Lake when it crashed, injuring the 78-year-old man piloting the plane and a 62-year-old woman passenger. A second passenger, a 44-year-old man, also from Cloquet, was not hurt.

Search for plane resumes near Duluth

The search resumed Tuesday for a Lakeville pilot and his plane, missing since Friday. The Civil Air Patrol continue to scour the area north of Duluth for Michael Arthur Bratlie, 67, and his white twin-engine Piper PA31 Navaho. Six aircraft and two ground teams are involved in the search Tuesday.
