Man dead, another injured in Mounds View stabbing

Authorities are investigating a stabbing incident that left one man dead and another man wounded at a Mounds View apartment building Thursday night.

KARE 11 reports officers were called to the apartment in the 7700 block of Silver Lake Road around 8:45 p.m. to find 49-year-old Perry Paulson, a resident of the building, dead with multiple stab wounds in a third-floor hallway.

The second victim, a 51-year-old man, was found in the parking lot with non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

No arrests have been made.

Police used a ladder to evacuate tenants from a balcony near the crime scene so not to compromise the investigation, WCCO said.

Police Chief Tom Kinney told the Star Tribune that the two victims "were acquainted," but could not elaborate further.

It's possible an arrest could come later Friday, Kinney said.
