A truck driver died in a rear end collision with another semi Monday afternoon – just minutes after a separate semi accident in nearly the same stretch of highway.

The first collision came at 1:39 pm. Monday, the State Patrol says, at milepost 210 along I-90 in Olmsted County (near Stewartville). A freightliner was pulled over and stopped on the westbound side. Another freightliner traveling that direction sideswiped the left rear of the stopped semi.

No alcohol was detected on either driver. One was uninjured, while the other suffered non-life threatening injuries.

KTTC reports one of the trucks was totaled and spilled its cargo.

Eleven minutes later, at 1:50 p.m. and at milepost 210 along I-90, two semis got into a rear-end collision, according to the State Patrol.

Jonathan Schadt, a 38-year-old from Des Moines, was killed in the incident. The driver of the other vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The road conditions are listed as dry at the time.
