1 dead after semi slams into car at a stoplight on Hwy. 36
A Wisconsin man died Tuesday when the car he was driving was rear-ended by a semi on eastbound Hwy. 36 in Lake Elmo.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a man in a 2015 Toyota Scion was stopped at a light on Hwy. 36 and Lake Elmo Ave. when a semi slammed into the back of his car.
A 54-year-old man from Amery, Wisconsin was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, a 28-year-old man from Independence, Wisconsin, was uninjured.
The crash forced authorities to shut down eastbound Hwy. 36 at Lake Elmo Ave. for about four hours while they investigated the scene.
