A man died after an apparent stabbing in St. Paul, the Pioneer Press reports.

KSTP says authorities responded to the scene on the 1100 block of Hamline Avenue N. around 1 p.m. Saturday.

According to KARE 11, the man had what looked like stab wounds and was taken to Regions Hospital, where he later died.

One woman was taken into custody, the Star Tribune reports, though the relationship between her and the victim wasn't clear.

Police are not looking for more suspects; neither person has been identified.

According to St. Paul police statistics, there were 11 homicides in 2014 (not including incidents that were ruled justifiable). In the four years before that there were 14, 14, eight, and 17.

The Pioneer Press has a map showing annual homicides. There had been nine so far this year through mid-October – but the shooting deaths of Sarah Wierstad later that month, and both Ahmed Ismail and Jeremy Allen in November, would push that number to 12.
