1 killed in Alexandria when undercover agents open fire

An undercover investigation turned deadly in Alexandria on Tuesday.

Two undercover agents with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) opened fire, killing one person, the Alexandria Echo Press reports. No officers were injured.

Police told the newspaper the investigation involved possible solicitation of minors.

The shooting occurred at about 2:15 p.m., FOX 9 says. But authorities released few details about what happened.

They did say that at the BCA's request the St. Paul Police Department will investigate the officer-involved shooting.

The Star Tribune says the name of the suspect who was shot is being withheld until family members are notified.
