1 person arrested in St. Paul skyway group attack

A man has been arrested in connection with a group attack in a St. Paul skyway that left one man with a broken wrist and another with a bloodied face.

KSTP reports police arrested a 28-year-old from St. Paul in connection with the assault on Jan. 19 in the Town Square area of the skyway, near Bremer Tower.

The attack left a 59-year-old man with a broken wrist and a 23-year-old man with facial injuries.

The 23-year-old victim, Thomas Klein, spoke to the Pioneer Press, saying the gang approached him when he ran into a co-worker, who had jumped on his back jokingly.

The gang is said to have asked Klein if he wanted them to beat the man up, and when he answered "no", they punched him in the face, along with the 59-year-old man – a friend of Klein's – who walks with a cane.
