A suspect was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Vadnais Heights Sunday night.
Deputies from the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office were on routine patrol when they located a suspicious RV and car parked at 3250 Fanum Road, a news release from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says.
Four deputies found a man in the RV and a woman in the car, and at one point a deputy in the RV fired their weapon, hitting the man. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The woman in the car was interviewed and released.
No deputies were injured, but they've been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure in officer-involved shootings.
The BCA is investigating the incident, and will turn its findings over to the Ramsey County Attorney's Office, which will consider whether charges should be brought against the officers involved.
So far this year, 289 people have been fatally shot by police in the U.S., the Washington Post's fatal force database shows, including at least three in Minnesota.
