1 year later: Investigators still probing 'Baby Angel' case

Investigators say they won’t give up on finding the parents of the infant girl found dead last Labor Day floating just south of Winona inside a bag in the Mississippi River. “The world keeps moving on, but that doesn’t mean we forget about the cases,” Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension special agent Drew Evans said last week. “We still consider this an active investigation.”

Investigators say they won’t give up on finding the parents of the infant girl found dead last Labor Day floating just south of Winona inside a bag in the Mississippi River, the Winona Daily News reports. “The world keeps moving on, but that doesn’t mean we forget about the cases,” Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension special agent Drew Evans told the newspaper last week.

Police have combed through tips and clues in the last year, including trying to trace the items found with the girl: four porcelain angel figurines, a bracelet, and T-shirt, the newspaper says. Here's an investigation timeline.

KARE 11 in April covered the funeral, attended by about 150, many of them law enforcement officers. Some wept for a girl they never knew.
