125 new home-based jobs coming to Alexandria

A surge in customer service jobs is coming to Alexandria in August and September.

The Alexandria Echo Press reports that Doherty Staffing Solutions of Edina will interview, train, and hire at least 125 customer service agents to handle inbound calls for Doherty’s client, Bluestem Brands, Inc, which owns online shopping catalogs Fingerhut and Gettington.

Bluestem, of Eden Prairie, contracted with Doherty to find workers in the Alexandria area. Those hired for the new positions will begin three weeks of paid training in Alexandria beginning next month.
