Officer Decker's brother: 'There's a lot of questions yet'

Author:

New developments in the case of slain Cold Spring Officer Tom Decker are giving his family and friends renewed hope of finding the person responsible. Eddie Decker, Tom's brother, told KARE 11, "It has been pretty much a roller coaster of emotions from the time Tommy died to the huge support that the community had for his funeral and his wake."

Officer Decker, 31, was shot and killed behind Winner's Bar in Cold Spring on Nov. 29.

Last week, investigators found the .20-gauge shotgun, the weapon allegedly used in the killing, on a property connected to Eric Thomes, another person of interest in the case. After fleeing investigators, the 31-year-old was found hanged in an outbuilding near his rural Cold Spring home on Wednesday.

Eddie added, "There's a lot of questions yet."

Watch KARE 11's interview below:

Ryan Larson, who was the initial suspect held and questioned after the slaying, told KARE that he has yet to be cleared in the case and would not comment at this point. The 34-year-old has maintained his innocence since the beginning of the case and was released from jail for lack of evidence.

“When you go to Google and look up my name, all you see are stories and my picture in connection to the murder. They [the authorities] need to fix that,” Larson told WCCO.

Police have not closed the case and are still asking the public for more information about Eric Thomes. Investigators want to reconstruct what he has been doing and saying the last six weeks.
