A 15-year-old boy was struck by a bullet during a shooting in St. Cloud that police believe was not random.
Witnesses told responding officers that several people ran from the area after the gunshot, and that a male was seen limping away.
Police searched but couldn't find a suspect, and didn't locate the shooting victim for nearly half an hour. At 11:50 p.m. police got a call about a teenager with a gunshot wound to his leg a few blocks away.
There they found the 15-year-old, who was visiting from Moorhead. He'd been shot in the lower leg, but police said the injury wasn't life-threatening. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital.
Police said they interviewed the teen, but got "limited cooperation" about what led up to the shooting. They don't think it was a random incident though, and it doesn't appear anyone else was injured.
Police are investigating, and ask anyone with information to call them at 320-251-1200, or contact Tri-County Crime Stoppers at 320-255-1301 or through their website, www.tricountycrimestoppers.org.
