16-year-old driver killed in crash when another car goes through stop sign

The teenage girl also had a passenger in her car.

A 16-year-old girl was killed when a driver went through a stop sign and slammed into her car.

The teenager was heading south on Stearns County Road 18 in Crow Lake Township around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Stearns County says.

While approaching County Road 19, a man driving a Grand Prix heading westbound did not stop at a stop sign. He went through the intersection, and his vehicle crashed into the driver's side door of the girl's car.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in her car also has life-threatening injuries, and was airlifted to a St. Cloud hospital. The man driving the Grand Prix was also taken to a hospital.

The crash is being investigated. The victim's identity has not yet been revealed.
