Snowy weather puts summer road construction on hold

The lack of spring weather in Minnesota is delaying some major road construction projects, KSTP reports.

Some of the work already off to a late start because of our endless winter weather include:

  • Lafayette Bridge project on Highway 52
  • I-694 and Highway 10 in Arden Hills
  • County Road 96 and Highway 10 in New Brighton
  • Highway 36 and English Street in Maplewood

However, MnDOT officials say the delayed start doesn’t mean the construction season will last any longer.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation outlined an ambitious $1.1 billion road construction plan last month that includes more than 300 highway, bridge and other projects around the state, including 87 in the Twin Cities.
