Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting that authorities say stemmed from an argument while people lined up for new Air Jordans.

Two suspects – both juvenile males – were arrested Wednesday evening in Minneapolis in connection with the shooting that injured two men in a busy parking lot at a Brooklyn Center strip mall Saturday, a news release says.

Brooklyn Center Police Cmdr. Tony Gruenig told BringMeTheNews there could possibly be two more suspects who were involved.

“We need the public’s help. There were hundreds of shoppers at the mall that day with cell phones. If you took video or photos of the scene, please, turn it over to authorities,” Brooklyn Center Police Cmdr. Tony Gruenig said in the release.

The shooting happened as people lined up outside the Foot Locker on Shingle Creek Parkway around 10 a.m. Saturday to buy the new Air Jordan 2 Retro “Wing It” shoes. Witnesses told reporters someone cut in line, and that led to an argument that ended with the shooting.

The victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone who has information on the incident is asked to call police at 763-503-3203, email police@ci.brooklyn-center.mn.us or submit a tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
