Two firefighters were hurt, five businesses damaged and five families displaced by a downtown Fergus Falls fire late Sunday night, Forum Communications reported. Valley News Live reported that the number of businesses damaged was three, and that four apartments were damaged.

More than 100 firefighters from nine departments battled the apartment building blaze, Forum reported. Everyone in the apartments escaped unhurt, the Winona Daily News reported.

The fire was first reported at about 10:20 p.m. but wasn't brought under control until about sunrise Monday, and crews were still monitoring hot spots Monday morning, the Associated Press reported. One firefighter who broke his arm was expected to have surgery Monday, the AP reported.

A fire cause has not been determined.
