2 girls who went missing on the way to school might be in the Twin Cities

Because of their age, police say they're at "high risk of endangerment."

Authorities are appealing for information about two teenage girls who went missing on their way to school on Tuesday.

Police in St. Croix Falls, in Wisconsin on the border with Minnesota, say 13-year-old Makayla Hanson-Wall (known as Kayla) and Candus Jean Flodin, 14, were last seen leaving their foster care home to go to school.

They never arrived.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said they think the girls might be in the Twin Cities, and they could be traveling with an adult male.

A statement from St. Croix PD, as reported by the Star Tribune, said because of their age they are a "high risk for endangerment."

Hanson-Wall is described as being 5-foot-4 with brown eyes and brown, shoulder-length, straight hair. Flodin, who goes by the name "Candy" is 5-foot-5 with brown eyes and brown, shoulder-length, wavy hair.

Anyone with information about them should call St. Croix Falls PD at 715-485-8300.
