2 Minnesota bars again named among the 100 best for beer

Two Minnesota establishments have been named among the 100 best bars for beer.

Draft Magazine released its annual list earlier this month, and The Happy Gnome in St. Paul and Republic in Minneapolis made in the top 100.

According to the publication, The Happy Gnome has an "extensive, while still thoughtful," draft list that's divided into broad categories of beer styles, noting there are 89 draft lines to choose from representing a mix of local and national breweries.

Draft Magazine also mentions the gastropub's food menu to pair perfectly with a brew.

Republic, meanwhile, has "consistently proven itself ahead of the curve," Draft Magazine says, noting it has 100 taps featuring the latest national breweries to hit the area, as well as the best beers in the local market.

It also has 16 tap lines dedicated to cider that are "well curated and change often," the publication notes.

Draft Magazine also mentions Republic's plans to open a location at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Both Republic and the Happy Gnome are no strangers to the 100 best beer bars list – they've both been on it since 2013.
