Two metro-area police officers were injured in two separate incidents on Saturday.
A St. Paul police officer was injured after crashing into an occupied vehicle Saturday afternoon, the Pioneer Press reports.
Police were investigating a home when two men in the yard bolted after seeing police. A third person, who was parked in a car nearby, got out and also fled the scene on foot. Police drove after the passenger, but crashed into a different parked vehicle.
The passenger was arrested for fleeing police and will appear in court on Monday. The two men who ran from the yard were questioned and released, FOX 9 says.
Cmdr. John Bandemer told the Pioneer Press that the officer suffered minor injuries and it's rare for police officers to crash into other vehicles.
In an unrelated incident, a Minneapolis police officer was injured in a chase early Saturday morning following an alleged domestic disturbance incident in North Minneapolis, FOX 9 reports.
The suspect hit an officer with his car door before leading police on a high-speed chase, the news station says. The chase ended when the suspect hit a tree and attempted to flee on foot, according to KARE 11.
The officer and suspect were treated for non-life threatening injuries, FOX 9 says.
