Two people were taken into custody after a "possible explosive device" was found in a car.
The incident happened Saturday morning near Maryland Avenue and Lane Place, the St. Paul Police Department tweeted at 6 a.m.
WCCO is reporting a woman called police around 5 a.m. saying she was being threatened with a gun. Police pulled over a car matching the description of the one involved and found two handguns and a "suspected pipe bomb" inside, the news station says.
Roads in the area were closed and homes were evacuated, police said.
Police tweeted the scene was clear around 7 a.m., noting the St. Paul Police Department bomb squad "will dispose of" the device.
Two people were taken into custody, and police noted the investigation is still ongoing.
