Two men who fled a prison boot camp and went on a crime spree through several western Wisconsin towns were caught more than a week later in Florida, but not after making it difficult for police to collar them, authorities said. Police dogs and a helicopter were used in the pursuit.

Two inmates remain on the run Friday from a west-central Wisconsin boot camp, suspected of arming themselves with a stolen shotgun and committing other crimes while possibly making their way to Minnesota, the Star Tribune reports. The two kidnapped a woman, stole her car, pointed a gun and asked her how to get to the interstate because they wanted to go to Minnesota, investigators say.

Police in Barron County, Wis. says they found $200,000 worth of trailers and equipment at several properties in the area. Keith Duffee, of Turtle Lake, Wis., is wanted for questioning in the case.

Police in Superior, Wis. say the man suffered gashes to his leg and arm after the 200-pound bear mauled him while he was deer hunting. Authorities were to find the bear and euthanize it. .

This is the first year for the week-long Norwegian Ridge Language Camp in Spring Grove, Minn. The Giants of the Earth Heritage Center started the camp to immerse more than 50 youth — and a few adults — in Norwegian culture.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating a helicopter crash that killed two Mayo Clinic employees in Florida. The Star Tribune reports the two Jacksonville hospital employees were flying to the University of Florida Monday to retrieve organs. A spokeswoman with the FAA says neither the employees nor the pilot survived after crashing northeast of Palatka, Florida.

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann was barely a blip in a Saturday straw poll among Florida Republicans. In a field of eight presidential candidates, she finished last with 1.5 percent of the vote. Businessman Herman Cain won the contest with 37 percent. Texas Gov. Rick Perry finished a distant second.
