A fire that broke out in the kitchen of a daycare center in Fargo forced the evacuation of dozens of children Wednesday morning.

The Forum reports employees shepherded 260 children out of Small Wonders Preschool & Child Care Center in less than three minutes after fire alarms went off.

The kids were taken to a nearby hotel while firefighters responded to the small blaze.

The fire began under a stove and was extinguished by the building's sprinkler system, causing only minor damage to kitchen cabinets and surrounding appliances.

Once the sprinkler system was reset, the children were able to returen to the daycare center.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No one was injured.
