2Pac is among the nominees eligible to enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's class of 2017.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the famed late rapper and activist's death, and the upcoming release of his biopic All Eyez On Me. Along with Pearl Jam, Depeche Mode, and Kraftwerk, he could be among the names announced for induction once voting ends in December.
Eligibility is determined under the rule of 25 years passing since an artist's debut release. If inducted, Pac would become the sixth hip-hop icon to be enshrined amongst the all time greats, including Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five (in 2007), Run DMC (in 2009), Public Enemy, The Beastie Boys (both 2012) and N.W.A. (in 2016).
