The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office says three kids are expected to recover after falling through the ice on a drainage pond in Little Canada Saturday morning.

WCCO reports the kids aged 8, 11 and 12 crawled under a fence and stepped onto the thin ice covering the pond near Big Circle Drive and Spruce Street.

The father of two of the children managed to pull everyone out. The kids were sent to Regions Hospital where they are extremely cold, but their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Ice is forming on lakes rivers and ponds around the state, but the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources warns the ice is not safe this early in the season.
