3 Minnesota cities are on a new ranking of best places to live

We have three of the best places to live in the United States, apparently.

The site 24/7 Wall Street looked at a bunch of qualities – including crime rate, employment growth, nearby restaurants and attractions, educational attainment, and housing prices – to figure out the 50 best cities in the country. (Read more on the methodology here.)

Minnesota appears thrice:

No. 5 – Eagan

  • Population: 66,087
  • Median home value: $243,200
  • Pct. with at least a bachelor's degree: 52.1%
  • Amenities per capita: 186.1 per 100,000 residents

  • Population: 66,799
  • Median home value: $284,300
  • Pct. with at least a bachelor's degree: 60.2%
  • Amenities per capita: 145.2 per 100,000 residents

No. 24 – Plymouth

  • Population: 75,065
  • Median home value: $322,300
  • Pct. with at least a bachelor's degree: 59.1%
  • Amenities per capita: 133.2 per 100,000 residents

This list got narrowed down from 550 cities that have a population of 65,000 or more.

Other nearby cities on the list include Eau Claire (47) and Fargo (No. 50).

Minnesota is one of four states with at least three cities on the list. Colorado appears four times; Florida five times; and California six times.
