McDonald’s had a winner when it started making breakfast meals available all-day at its restaurants, and now is looking to expand its breakfast offering to kids.
CNN Money reports that the fast-food leviathan is going to test out breakfast versions of its kiddie Happy Meals, offering two McGriddles cakes or an egg-and-cheese McMuffin.
The initial test will involve 73 restaurants in the Tulsa, Oklahoma, area, but if successful the home of Ronald McDonald could expand it nationwide.
According to USA Today, it would be the first major new addition to the Happy Meal line in more than 30 years, and comes on the heels of its hugely successful roll-out of all day breakfasts last October.
“Since the launch of all day breakfast, more of our customers have been reaching out to us and asking us for these choices for their kids In the Happy Meals,” a company official told the newspaper.
Even at times when McDonalds sales have hit a downturn, its breakfast menu has still performed well.
TIME reports that along with the McGriddles or McMuffin, Happy Meals will come with apple slices or yogurt on the side.
