Authorities have arrested four people in connection with the brutal attack of two men after they left a bar in Fridley early Saturday morning. The Anoka County Sheriff's department announced Sunday it has arrested two men suspected of being the attackers, and two women whose involvement in the crime is not yet clear.
The victims, Anthony McCollum of Hilltop and Yani Singh of Columbia Heights, both 21 years old, were at the Two Stooges Bar in Fridley about 2 a.m. Saturday when the two women, whom they met there, asked for a ride to a nearby apartment.
The men agreed, and when they arrived at the destination, two men approached the car and attacked the victims, beating them and stabbing them several times; the women fled. McCollum and Singh were able to escape, and drove to another location where one of them called police at about 4:30 a.m., according to the sheriff's department.
Authorities say they're not sure where the group was during the two hours that elapsed between the time they left the bar and the time the victims called for help, the Star Tribune reports.
The suspects are a 25-year old man from Spring Lake Park, an 18-year-old man with no permanent address, and two 22-year-old women -- one from Minneapolis and one from St. Paul. None of them have been charged as of yet, and authorities say they won't release any more information about the case until charges are filed.
Singh and McCollum remain hospitalized. Singh has regained consciousness, but McCollum has not, according to the sheriff's department.
