A 76-year-old Esko man died after a tractor accident Wednesday night, the Duluth News Tribune reports. It was the fourth fatality in Minnesota in the last week involving a tractor.
The Carlton County Sheriff's Office said authorities were called to a road west of Esko, southwest of Duluth, at about 7:45 p.m. about a man who had been hurt after he fell off his tractor.
The man, identified as Willard Quiram, was treated at the scene and then taken to St. Luke's hospital in Duluth, where he died from his injuries, the News Tribune reported. The circumstances of the fall were not immediately reported.
On Friday, Ron Gustafson, 50, and his 5-year-old grandson died in a tractor accident in Wright County, northwest of the Twin Cities metro. Gustafson died at the scene and the boy died about an hour later from his blunt-force trauma injuries.
On Tuesday morning, a 26-year-old man died after his car collided with a tractor just north of Proctor in northeastern Minnesota.
The State Patrol said the driver, from Grand Rapids, crossed the centerline and hit the tractor driven by a 57-year-old man from Proctor, who suffered no apparent injuries, KARE 11 reported.
