4 injured in Stillwater prison altercation
A disturbance at Stillwater prison Wednesday left four employees injured, the Star Tribune reports.
WCCO says a female guard that was badly beaten in the face and a contract employee were taken to the hospital for treatment. Two others suffered minor injuries.
Minnesota Department of Corrections spokesman John Schadl released few details, but tells the Pioneer Press that the incident didn't involve a large number of inmates and doesn't appear to be a riot situation. Schadl says it may have involved only one inmate.
The Star Tribune reports one cell block remained on lockdown Thursday.
The Stillwater correctional facility houses approximately 1,500 inmates and is the state's largest close-security, level four institution for adult male felons.
