A huge scaffolding collapse in the Minneapolis North Loop sent six workers falling to the ground on Friday morning.

Minneapolis Fire Department says one worker has been taken to the hospital for evaluation of a head injury following the incident at 2nd Avenue and Washington Avenue North at around 10 a.m.

The scaffolding fell away from the building, the fire department said, with witnesses in the area telling WCCO's Mary McGuire the wind may have caused it.

Construction is one of the most dangerous industries in the United States.

In 2016, construction had the highest incidence rate of nonfatal workplace injuries in Minnesota, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
