At Clearwater Middle School in Waconia, 12-year-old Tate Maurer is known for his cool, spiky hairdo, Fox 9 reports. But after a cancer diagnosis on Thanksgiving Day, he knew he'd be losing his locks during chemotherapy.

On Wednesday, 81 of his classmates showed their solidarity by having their heads shaved in the school cafeteria. Fox 9 has the full story.
