The Minnesota State Patrol says Charles Miranda, 89, of Minneapolis, was killed when the Chevy Express van he was riding in blew a tire, spun out and crashed Wednesday into the median on Interstate 394 in Golden Valley, KARE 11 reports. The 55-year-old driver was not injured, but another passenger, an 85-year-old woman from Minneapolis, suffered a minor injury. The incident occurred around 9 a.m. near Xenia and Park Place, KARE 11 says.

All three people had been wearing seat belts, the Pioneer Press says.

The mini-bus was sitting in the middle lane, facing the wrong direction, after the crash, the Star Tribune reports. The left lane and center-left lanes were closed, but the road reopened about 10:30 a.m. after snarling traffic, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
